About AAU Federalism Club
Addis Ababa University Federalism Club (AAUFC) is a student-led organization that aims to create a platform for dialogue and discussion of federalism at a university level and beyond. The club's mission is to create a platform for dialogue, debate, and networking among students and other parties interested in federalism and related issues.
The club creates a platform for facilitating in constructive and sober discussion and sharing of ideas among the students and faculty members on major issues of federalism as the constitutional and political order of Ethiopia. In this way, the club will contribute to the development of a democratic culture in Ethiopia by promoting the values of tolerance, respect and cooperation among different identity groups and perspectives.
Generally, the club organizes various activities, such as seminars, trainings, conferences, debates, publications, and field trips, to enhance theoretical knowledge and practical imperatives of its members and the wider community.
The Club is particularly in close contact with the Center for Federalism and Governance Studies (CFGS) of Addis Ababa University, a pioneer Center in teaching and researching federalism. The Club also envisages to cooperate and work with relevant institutions such as House of Federation, Ministry of Peace and Forum of Federation.
