Overview
About AC/AL
AC / AL is a French design studio based in Paris. It was founded in 2012 by Amandine Chhor and Aïssa Logerot, both graduated from the school ENSCI – Les Ateliers.
Getting into diverse typologies of projects, the studio considers design as a multidisciplinary approach and explores the boundaries of their creative practices, from industrial design to experimental prototypes, limited editions and collaborations with craftsmanship.
In their projects, the pair strives to create products and spaces that value meaningfulness, usages and function through clean lines. They both like to immerse themselves in a wide range of topics, contexts and challenges, while searching the right balance between techniques and forms accuracy.
The studio manages collaborations from artistic direction to space, furniture and product design, and it has a pragmatic design process in which hands-on experiments and models making are key elements.
Since 2009, Amandine and Aïssa have also been involved in developing in situ projects with i.d.o, a non-profit association and collaborative platform, dedicated to offering design and architecture skills, in order to develop and accompany solidarity-based projects in countries under development.
