Accela Research is an independent research partner for investors focused on climate transition, working with investors to accelerate a just and equitable transition to net-zero emissions.
Our team of independent experts analyses climate strategies from a financial perspective, turning analysis into actionable insights to reveal whether companies do what they say they are doing on climate, addressing the say-do gap. We bridge the gap between a company’s climate plans and financial performance, enabling investors to make informed, net-zero-aligned investment decisions. Accela was founded with a vision to accelerate the global transition by moving low-carbon investment into the trillions. Today, a gap remains between corporate net-zero pledges and real progress, the climate execution gap. With warming in 2024 the first calendar year with a global mean temperature of more than 1.5°C above the 1850-1900 average and the risk of climate inaction cutting global incomes by 19% by 2050, the stakes could not be higher.
Our name, Accela, derived from “accelerate” captures our mission to connect climate and finance. We chose to build as a non-profit to ensure integrity: our methodologies are aligned with climate science, independent, and transparent.
