About ACEN Association of Consulting Engineers of Namibia
Purpose of ACEN
The purpose of ACEN is three-fold:
Firstly we represent the best interests of the Consulting Engineers in general towards our clients, very much in the same way as a trade union does for its members.
Secondly we represent a direct access route by our clients to our members so that we can aid long term principles such as government policy and the like.
Thirdly we provide a structure to which Consulting firms must conform thereby ensuring accountable, responsible and fair practise by all members
Values of ACEN
Integrity: Integrity is fundamental to promoting the professional and business interests, rights, and powers of association members. Upholding high ethical standards and maintaining independence of judgment are crucial for fostering trust and credibility.
Collaboration: Collaboration is key to achieving multiple objectives, such as assisting members to associate for mutual advantage, building influence in national and international affairs, and promoting an inclusive and representative membership. Working together fosters a sense of community and shared expertise.
Excellence: Striving for excellence aligns with objectives related to promoting excellence in serving the public, maintaining high standards for conduct, and advancing the professions of Consulting Engineers and allied Professionals.
Advocacy: Advocacy is central to the objectives of promoting the professional and business interests of association members and building influence in national and international affairs. Values such as speaking up for members' rights and powers are inherent in advocacy efforts.
Inclusivity: Inclusivity is crucial for objectives related to enhancing the collective reputation and economic viability of members and promoting membership that is inclusive and representative of Consulting Engineers and Allied Professionals. Embracing diversity ensures a broad and representative perspective within the association.
