About Active Education Australia (Powered by ACHPER Victoria)
After decades of supporting Victorian teachers as ACHPER Victoria, we’re stepping forward as Active Education Australia (AEA) — an independent, national organisation committed to empowering health, physical education (HPE), sport, and recreation communities across the country.
This change marks an exciting new chapter for us, one where we can respond with deeper impact, more flexibility to the needs of educators Australia-wide.
Our purpose is to enable all people to lead active and healthy lives.
We are the association which unites professionals working in health and physical education, including (but not limited to) sport, recreation, physical activity and education technology.
We do this by combining to share knowledge, skills, research and understanding, and bring these benefits to the broader community.
We understand education enables active and healthy lives and we connect to provide a full range of services, resources, activities, supporting not only education, but the broader community as a whole.
We are ever evolving and growing through innovation, and our goal is to retain our foundational character and strengths while growing and broadening our reach and relevance.
Our services and resources are multifaceted, and we can assist in many ways including:
▪️ Membership and fellowship.
▪️ Professional learning through events, tailored in-school workshops, resources and much more.
▪️ Consulting services which link organisations – particularly sports – to education.
▪️ Active Schools: provision of the Expert Support Service (ESS) to the Victorian Department of Education program.
