Overview

About ACORD UGANDA

ACORD UGANDA is a National Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that has worked in Uganda since 1979 initially as an implementing arm of ACORD International.
In 2019, ACORD Uganda was formally registered as an indigenous Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the National Bureau for NGOs in Uganda. ACORD Uganda aspires to contribute towards Uganda’s Development, Humanitarian response and to promote social justice for vulnerable communities and groups particularly the poor, children, youth and women.
ACORD Uganda works with government, communities, civil society organizations and the private sector to positively impact on the lives of vulnerable groups in Uganda. We promote active and meaningful participation of target groups and communities and draw on research and advocacy to change the underlying drivers of inequalities that sustain multiple forms of vulnerabilities in communities where we work at local and national levels.

Our Vision
A society in which all people are able to achieve their rights and fulfil their responsibilities.

Our Mission
We work in partnership with marginalized communities and those who have been denied their rights to analyze their situation and jointly find sustainable solutions to improve their wellbeing.
