Overview

About Active Surveillance Patients International (ASPI)

Active Surveillance Patients International (ASPI) is a patient-run, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting men with prostate cancer—especially those considering or living on Active Surveillance—and the partners and families who support them.

We focus on men with:

Rising PSA

Newly diagnosed, low-risk or favorable-intermediate prostate cancer

Men actively monitoring their prostate cancer through Active Surveillance

ASPI provides education, peer support, and trusted information to help patients make informed decisions about testing, monitoring, lifestyle, and when—or if—treatment is needed.

Our mission is to support and empower men and their partners to be proactive, informed, and confident throughout their prostate cancer journey. We emphasize:

Evidence-based information on Active Surveillance

Patient experiences and shared decision-making

Understanding PSA, biopsy results, MRI, and emerging tools

Quality of life, mental well-being, and long-term outcomes

ASPI offers:

Educational webinars with leading prostate cancer experts

Patient stories and lived experience perspectives

Articles, videos, and practical resources focused on Active Surveillance

A global community for men seeking thoughtful, balanced prostate cancer care

We believe that Active Surveillance is not “doing nothing,” but a structured, intentional approach that prioritizes safety, quality of life, and ongoing vigilance.

Whether you are newly diagnosed, years into Active Surveillance, a care partner, clinician, or researcher, ASPI is a place for education, connection, and informed choice.
