Overview

About Adelan Limited

Adelan is a cleantech development company established by Professor Kevin Kendall and Dr Michaela Kendall. Together Kevin and Michaela have over 40 years of experience with solid oxide fuel cell technology (SOFC) technology.

The founders of Adelan invented microtubular SOFCs (mSOFC) core technology in 1992, protecting it through patents. Adelan became the first company to develop mSOFC products and protects emerging mSOFC patents for commercialisation.

Over the past 20 years Adelan strengthened its technical position through collaborative partnerships with customers in business, academia and government. Adelan built global credibility for the core technology, and became the go-to group for mSOFC technology product development partnerships in Europe.

Adelan helped to develop the UK fuel cell industry over three decades, reducing barriers and risk in the market. Adelan now develop and sell small, portable power products, gaining data on system lifetimes in the field and making progressive product improvements.

Adelan fuel cell technology is stackable according to power requirements and therefore can be used for many different applications. Acting as a technological stepping stone towards the hydrogen economy.

We work with technology Partners and allied organisations such as the FCH JU, University of Birmingham, EPSRC, and a network of international partnership to commercialise fuel cell technology.
