AEROC

Aeroc is protecting our climate and revolutionizing agriculture with its enhanced rock weathering technology. We use ground basalt rock to permanently remove CO₂ from the atmosphere. The process involves crushing the rock, spreading it on agricultural land where the CO₂ is bound by a chemical reaction and quantifying the removed CO₂. The generated CO₂ negative emissions enable companies to recover their irreducible emissions. At the same time, the technology can increase crop yields, improve agricultural soils and reduce the costs of farming operations. Aeroc was founded in Cologne in April 2024 and was successfully selected for a high six-figure grant by the Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in June.
