About AFARM-Maharashtra

Action for Agriculture Renewal in Maharashtra (AFARM) was established in 1969 as a network of organizations and still continues to be functional as one of the oldest networks of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Maharashtra with ever-expanding membership.

AFARM has always contributed to strengthening to capacities of small organizations to enable them to manage their affairs in the long run and gain credibility among people, the government, and social sector.

AFARM provides techno-managerial support to these NGOs and therefore, seeks its footprints through these network organizations.

Vision:
To act as platform for NGOs to promote Sustainable and Equitable Development.

Mission:
To build the capacity of NGOs through Action Research, Advocacy, Field Level Implementation Supports and Consultancy Efforts to expedite Effective development of the poor at the grassroots and at the policy level.

Core Program Areas:

Natural Resources : Natural Resource Management through participatory watershed management with focus on conservation & Judicious use for sustainability.

Agriculture : Climate-resilient sustainable agriculture offers a location-specific, technically feasible, economical, environment friendly, and socially accepted farming system.

Livelihoods : Micro Entrepreneurship Development through skill upgrading, financial assistance, backward linkages, and marketing support for the sustainability of livelihood enhancement.
