Affordable Housing Advocates (AHA) is York County’s leading nonprofit housing developer, with over 50 years of experience creating dignified, affordable living opportunities. Founded in 1971 as the York Housing Development Corporation, AHA has grown from renovating city homes to stewarding a portfolio that now houses more than 600 individuals across York County. Our work spans new construction, historic preservation, and strategic redevelopment—always with the goal of ensuring low- and moderate-income households have access not just to housing, but to stability, opportunity, and community. With deep expertise in HUD, USDA-RD, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit programs, AHA remains at the forefront of local housing advocacy and development. We pair this technical skill with a grassroots philosophy—investing in services, partnerships, and policies that make our neighborhoods stronger and more connected.
