Africa In the World

Africa In the World once a year hosts the world’s thinkers and doers, whose ideas and work have the potential to solve large problems facing Africa and the world, and who help us to see new possibilities and coax us away from old dogmas and prejudices. AIW is a festival of human possibilities, and welcomes the world to the African town of Stellenbosch, in the Cape Winelands. The festival showcases ideas hiding in plain sight across all fields of human endeavor, whether cracking the malaria code, redesigning cities, delivering high quality public education at scale to give a fair shake to the child in Shoshanguve as children in Singapore, or outright hacking capitalism.
