About African Local Content Organization (ALCO)

The African Local Content Organization (ALCO) is a pan-African, non-profit platform that champions the development, harmonization, and implementation of local content strategies across the continent.

Formally launched in 2025 by industry leaders, policymakers, and civil society actors from over a dozen African countries, ALCO acts as a convening body and knowledge hub for stakeholders committed to industrial empowerment and inclusive growth through local content.

Vision:
A unified and empowered African industrial ecosystem driven by inclusive, harmonized, and effective local content development.

Mission:
To promote the development and harmonization of local content policies, enhance the competitiveness of local industries, and facilitate cross-border collaboration for African suppliers and professionals.

Our Work Includes:
- Regional policy dialogue & advocacy
- Technical assistance and research
- Stakeholder engagement and partnerships
- Capacity building programs for regulators and suppliers
- Data and digital platforms for local content monitoring

ALCO operates through a General Assembly of national member associations, a Board of Directors, an Executive Secretariat, and Regional Working Groups representing all five African regions.
