African Filmmakers Network Association (AFNETWORK) is an organization dedicated to promoting African and Caribbean cinema, as well as providing training for young people facing precarious situations or dropping out of school in the field of filmmaking. Our goal is to offer them an opportunity to improve their situation by acquiring real professional skills in a rapidly growing industry. AFNETWORK firmly believes in the power of cinema as a tool for social change and awareness. We strive to highlight the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by showcasing films that address these critical issues. Through the narrative power of cinema, our aim is to raise public awareness and encourage critical thinking about global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, and more. One of AFNETWORK's key activities is professional training in the field of filmmaking. We provide young people facing precarious situations or dropping out of school with the opportunity to acquire practical skills in areas such as directing, production, post-production, screenwriting, and more. Through comprehensive training programs, we equip them with the necessary tools to develop their creativity, boost their self-confidence, and access employment opportunities in the film industry. By collaborating with African and Caribbean film professionals, we also facilitate young talent's access to networks and mentorship opportunities. We organize workshops, conferences, and film screenings, creating a space for learning and exchange where young people can develop their skills and understanding of the industry.
