African Media Entertainment is a vibrant media company with two core focus areas. On the one side are its valuable radio assets, and on the other a rich portfolio of digital media services, publishing and business broadcasting assets. Each arm of the business is complementary to the other. The company was established in 1997 and has been listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), under the “Media & Entertainment” banner, for the last 22 years. On the radio front, AME owns two unique and distinct brands: Algoa FM, which broadcasts from the Garden Route to the Wild Coast; and OFM, which broadcasts in the Free State, North West Province, Northern Cape and Southern Gauteng. The company also has a strategic interest in Classic 1027, South Africa’s only commercial classical music radio station which broadcasts across Gauteng. On the digital and media front it owns United Stations, a specialist radio sales house; MediaHeads 360, a strategic marketing and content producer, Moneyweb, whose flagship product moneyweb.co.za is South Africa’s premier online source of investment information and the Central Media Group which includes Digital Platforms and Mahareng Publishing.
