About African Women on Board
African Women on Board (AWB) is a non-profit organization, led-by and in service of African women and girls on the continent and in the diaspora.
Motivated by the gaping holes in the accurate representation of African women on the world stage, AWB is obsessed with amplifying African female voices, activating African female wealth, and changing the material realities for African women and girls worldwide.
Our work disrupts outdated, western-based stereotypes of what it means to be an African woman and girl today.
We steward conventions, programming and funding schemes that strategically place capital in the hands of African women and girls, and thereby facilitate their unique contribution to the global discourse and marketplace that benefits us all.
