Agape Health Services

The first healthcare center was established in Washington, North Carolina in 1998 and operated under Metropolitan Housing Inc.. The following year, the organization elected a separate Board of Directors and changed the name to Metropolitan Community Health Services, Inc. Metropolitan Community Health Services, Inc. does business as Agape Health Services. Due to an increased demand of affordable healthcare in rural Eastern North Carolina counties, the organization expanded its operations and in 2013 opened the second site in Williamston, North Carolina. Agape Health Services is processing the opening of a third site in Plymouth, North Carolina, tentatively scheduled for 2020.

Agape Health Services operates under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act and is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides direct primary and preventive medical, dental, pharmacy, and behavioral health services to the population in Eastern North Carolina on a sliding fee scale.
