About Agence Française de Développement - AFD - in the Pacific Ocean
Based in Noumea, AFD's Pacific Ocean Regional Office (DROP) includes two agencies that have been based in Nouméa (New Caledonia) and Papeete (French Polynesia) for close to 80 years. DROP also opened offices in Suva (Fiji) and Port-Moresby (Papua New Guinea), in 2024.
DROP covers a vast geographical area: the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, New Caledonia, Palau, Papua New Guinea, French Polynesia, Federated Republic of the Marshall Islands, Samoa, East Timor, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Wallis and Futuna.
AFD Group supports the Pacific region in tackling shared regional challenges: climate change, biodiversity, reducing vulnerabilities and regional cooperation.
