NABARD MABIF

Madurai Agri Business Incubation Forum (MABIF), incorporated on 9th May 2018 as a Section 8 company under the Companies Act, 2013, is a flagship initiative jointly promoted by NABARD and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), situated at the TNAU Madurai Campus. It serves as a premier agribusiness incubation platform in Southern Tamil Nadu, blending academic excellence with entrepreneurial innovation to foster a thriving ecosystem for agri startups, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), rural innovators, and women entrepreneurs. MABIF has successfully incubated 487 enterprises and enrolled 550 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across the state. Additionally, MABIF is also handholding 25 FPOs under Central Sector Scheme, GoI through NABARD. In addition to this, MABIF has facilitated the filing of 139 trademarks, 20 patents, and 65 Geographical Indications (GIs) while continuously promoting awareness of intellectual property rights among the Startups and the farming community in the state of Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu State Agricultural Marketing Board (TNSAMB), GoTN has entrusted MABIF for facilitating the registration of 40 Agri GI products under agricultural budget, in which GI certification has been obtained for 7 products. Also, MABIF has initiated the MABIF Products Promotional Centre (MABIF PPC) an exclusive centre for promoting the products of FPOs, Startups and GI products.
