AI & Society at UAlbany

The University at Albany has launched its new AI & Society College and Research Center to equip students for an AI-driven world. This initiative emphasizes trustworthiness, equity, privacy, and accountability in AI applications. Rather than functioning as a standalone entity, the college collaborates with UAlbany’s nine schools and colleges to integrate AI-focused curricula into existing programs, offering microcredentials and courses across disciplines. The AI & Society Research Center, part of the AI Plus Institute, fosters interdisciplinary research by uniting experts from humanities, social sciences, and technology fields to explore AI’s societal impacts. Together, these efforts aim to prepare a diverse workforce adept at navigating and shaping the ethical landscape of artificial intelligence.
