About Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) - Aarhus University
The Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) at Aarhus University is an independent research institute with a mission to attract and bring together leading talents from all over the world to advance curiosity-driven research and explore novel research questions and paths. About 200 ‘Institutes for Advanced Study’ exist worldwide, and AIAS is an active member of both the European NetIAS and global UBIAS networks for Institutes for Advanced Study.
AIAS hosts excellent researchers from all academic disciplines on individual or collaborative research fellowships to pursue cutting-edge projects in optimal conditions for the benefit of society and humankind.
The daily interdisciplinary interaction at AIAS challenges the research fellows with fresh and different insights and perspectives on their own research, leading to new and unexpected research directions and solutions.
Currently, AIAS hosts:
• 30 AIAS Fellows
• Visiting Fellows (for stays up till 6 months)
• 28 Associate Fellows from Aarhus University faculty
