Akbar Brothers is a family owned business established in the year 1969, with a workforce of over 2500 employees. The company has marked over 30 years as Sri Lanka’s largest tea exporter with shipments in the year 2017 topping 42 million kilos.
In addition to being one of Sri Lanka's foremost exporters of Teas, Akbar Brothers has successfully diversified into a range of sectors. Today, the Group has a firm presence in the sectors of Tea, Power Generation, Healthcare, Trading, Agriculture, Leisure, Printing, Property Development and has made Strategic Investments in the Banking & Insurance, Commodity brokering, Manufacturing Sectors
