Akron Energy Systems, LLC

Akron Energy Systems, LLC provides steam heat to more than 17 million square feet of building space in downtown Akron, Ohio. Customers include Akron Children's Hospital, Akron General Hospital, Summa Hospital and the University of Akron. Akron Energy Systems, LLC operates two plants. The Progressive Energy Center includes three boilers that can operate on natural gas, woodwaste or wood chips. A second boiler plant, The Heritage Energy Center, can operate on coal or natural gas.

Akron Energy Systems, L.L.C. also provides chilled water cooling to a section of downtown Akron, Ohio that includes a 2 million square foot office building and light industrial park, the Akron Aeros baseball stadium, an adjacent office building and the Akron Civic Theater.
