At Akron Soul Train (AST), we foster extraordinary and enriching journeys for artists across diverse disciplines. As the exclusive residency program in Akron, Ohio, we extend financial backing to 12-15 artists annually, alongside artist-led initiatives aimed at benefiting our community. Our residency program is designed to offer regional visual, performing, and literary talents the essential resources of space, time, administrative support, and financial aid, enabling them to explore and introduce fresh creations and concepts to the public. We wholeheartedly endorse experimentation, embracing risk, and nurturing artistic growth, inviting creators at any stage of their careers to transcend the confines of their craft.
