About Akshaya Chaitanya
Akshaya Chaitanya is among Mumbai’s leading NGOs dedicated to promoting public health by implementing large-scale meal initiatives. The organisation serves over 18,000 freshly prepared and wholesome meals everyday to children in municipal schools and balwadis, including those in urban-slum communities, as well as OPD patients and their caregivers in government hospitals, completely free of cost. These meals act as a foundation for better learning, improved health, and overall well-being.
Akshaya Chaitanya is committed to build a healthier and better-nourished community in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals - SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 4 (Inclusive, Equitable Quality Education). The organisation is currently scaling its operations to serve 1.2 lakh meals per day, spanning across 1,146 municipal schools and over 50 hospitals, ensuring no one is left behind.
With a strong focus on corporate collaborations, Akshaya Chaitanya partners with organisations through CSR initiatives, offering impactful opportunities that align with their CSR goals to contribute in the areas of health and education.
