AKTOR Romania is the largest construction subsidiary of the group, and it has been present in the country for over 20 years. The company has completed six major projects and has seven more currently in progress. Out of these, the Brașov – Simeria railway line rehabilitation (Coșlariu – Sighișoara section – sub-sections: 1. Brașov-Apata and 3. Cața-Sighișoara, and sub-sections 2. Apața – Cața) involve upgrading a vital part of the Pan-European Corridor IV for high-speed train travel. The most recently completed project is Lot 3 of the A0 South Motorway, a nearly 18-kilometer segment that has significantly improved transit flow between Romania’s western and eastern regions through a direct link between highways A1 and A2. The opening of Lot 3 allows for a full southern bypass of Bucharest, reducing travel times along this corridor and contributing to improved quality of life in nearby urban areas.
