AL'S PALS

We provide emotional and practical support to cancer patients. It was named after one of it's patients Alan Dumbell. He felt that although he had loving family supporting him, he still felt lonely and lost at times and to have someone to talk to that understood what it is like to have cancer or support someone through cancer would have meant the world to him at this time.
Our wonderful volunteers can support patients by sitting with them at appointments or on the ward, they can provide support to the patients and their family by referring them onto relevant services, they can provide telephone support at home and we can also be there at end of life. Our aim is to be your 'pal' and be that person that can eradicate stress from the patient and their family.
