About Alice House Hospice
Alice House Hospice provides care and support to people affected by life-limiting illness or the death of a loved one in Hartlepool, Tees Valley and East Durham. Our services make a vital difference to the lives of local patients and families throughout these communities.
It costs over £3.6m to fund these services for one year. We receive just over 25% of this in Government funding, leaving a shortfall of £7,266 to be raised every single day.
Alice House Hospice was recognised at the 2024 Hartlepool Business Awards, named as Best Charitable Business; Lorna Jones, Vice-Chair of Trustees and daughter of Hospice founder Alice Bendle, was awarded the inaugural Peter Olsen Award for her Outstanding Contribution.
Alice House Hospice is a member of Hospices North East & North Cumbria (HNENC), a collaborative group of 12 independent charitable hospices working together to provide sustainable, high-quality palliative and end-of-life care across the North East and North Cumbria.
Our aim is to support each other in delivering the best care possible, whilst working with decision-makers to implement positive changes that benefit the people and families for whom we care.
Together, we work to create a better future for those needing palliative care services across the region because everyone deserves high-quality, free end-of-life care.
