This was eventually sold to Canadian Western Bank, who in turn sold it a few years later to Computershare Trust Company of Canada. The model of business that Zinat H. Damji created through Valiant Trust Company was so innovative that to this day, new entrants into the corporate trust business seem to use it as a blue-print. With a string of successful ventures behind her, Zinat H. Damji was once again able to raise approximately $3 million, in a matter of less than an hour, with a solid business plan and a handshake, to embark on the long journey to apply for a Government Trust Charter to start Alliance Trust Company.
