Alter Brewing Company is a Chicago-area brewery and restaurant group built on the idea that great beer brings people together—and that every pint has the power to change your day for the better.
Founded in 2015 in Downers Grove, our original production brewery and taproom has grown into a three-location family that includes two full-service restaurants—Alter Brewing + Kitchen Oak Brook and Alter Brewing + Kitchen St. Charles—each offering chef-driven food, fresh beer, and an unmistakably welcoming vibe.
From small-batch IPAs to barrel-aged sours and limited-edition collaborations, we’re constantly experimenting, evolving, and having fun along the way.
