AltusWorks is an architectural design firm committed to the belief that existing buildings are renewable assets with the potential to contribute to the economic and social vitality of communities through their revitalization.

Founded by Ellen Stoner in 2003, AltusWorks brings creative problem-solving and technical expertise to projects involving existing buildings. The firm gives new life to older, neglected, or abandoned facilities through renovation/upgrade, expansion, and/or adaptive reuse. Honoring architectural tradition and legacy, AltusWorks specializes in providing restoration, rehabilitation, and preservation design services for historic structures.

By uncovering, enhancing, and showcasing the essence of a building’s architectural character, AltusWorks helps to create buildings that serve a vital purpose in their communities and provide authentic, memorable, and vibrant experiences for their users.
