Amazon Medical Project

Since 1990, the Amazon Medical Project (AMP) has partnered with the Yanamono Medical Clinic to deliver life-changing healthcare to remote communities in northeastern Peru. Most people in this region travel 2-8 hours by boat to reach the nearest medical clinic. Founded by Dr. Linnea J. Smith, M.D., this year-round, locally staffed facility provides comprehensive care — from preventative medicine and health screenings to family planning, dental care, and emergency services — serving populations with limited access to medical resources.
