This is the official account of America250PADelco established by the Delaware County Council to plan and coordinate the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of America on July 4, 2026 – the U.S. Semiquincentennial celebration.
Leading up to 2026, a coalition of public and private partners are all working to create initiatives and programs that celebrate 250 years of our history and inspire the American spirit in all Americans. Led nationally by The U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission—created by Congress—and it's America250 Foundation, and at the state-level by America250PA, the commemoration is a multi-year effort, beginning in 2020, culminating on July 4, 2026, and officially concluding in 2027.
America250PADelco is an official partner to America250PA and will help coordinate all Semiquincentennial-related activities, events, and projects in Delaware County, PA.
Delaware County, PA is where William Penn first landed in Pennsylvania in 1682 and is widely celebrated as ‘Where Pennsylvania Began.’ Today, patriotism still runs deep in Delco. Home to some of the country’s most beloved historical sites, main streets, celebrated museums, gorgeous parks, and gardens. From soccer games on the Chester waterfront to strawberry picking in the orchards, world-class cuisine to home-grown hidden gems, Delaware County has something for everyone.
