About AMR Club of FUHSI
The AMR Club of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun (FUHSI) is a student-led initiative dedicated to addressing the rising threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) through education, advocacy, and action.
Founded in recognition of the urgent need for responsible antimicrobial use, the club empowers students to become informed stewards of health by promoting awareness, supporting research, and driving community engagement. We aim to cultivate a new generation of leaders equipped to confront the global AMR crisis with evidence-based solutions and proactive interventions.
Our activities span sensitization efforts, peer-led learning, collaborative campaigns, and interdisciplinary projects that bring together voices from clinical, basic, and public health sciences. Through these efforts, we strive to foster a culture of responsible antimicrobial use, critical thinking, and social accountability among health science students.
Beyond advocacy, the AMR Club of FUHSI also serves as a hub for mentorship, professional development, and research exposure, connecting members to opportunities within and beyond Nigeria’s public health ecosystem.
We believe that through student-led action and strategic partnerships, we can help safeguard the effectiveness of antimicrobial agents for future generations.
