Overview

About APIC - Access to Psychiatry through Intermediate Care

Access to Psychiatry through Intermediate Care (APIC) is a mobile health unit that focuses on outcome-oriented, patient-centered care, specializing in those who have been diagnosed as intellectually or developmentally disabled, and their families. It is a mobile alternative to traditional care for the most severe or complex of cases, on the patient and family’s terms, in their space, that optimizes pharmacological schedules and reduces barriers to entry on necessary wrap-around services. Established in 2014 through University at Buffalo’s Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, APIC has made a significant impact across NY State as well as at other facilities across the nation. www.apicout.org
