About APPG on Fisheries
The APPG on Fisheries is a neutral, cross-party forum for debate, discussion and learning within Parliament. The Group was founded by MPs and Peers who want to promote and support the UK fishing industry, whilst exploring key questions for the future of fishing, processing, coastal communities and the marine environment.
We are at the forefront of vital conversations for fishing and associated industries in Parliament. Bringing together expert insight, best practice and case studies from across the UK and further, the APPG facilitates and reports on these conversations, via open Parliamentary seminars, publications and a vibrant online presence.
Chaired by Alistair Carmichael MP (LibDem) and Melanie Onn MP (Labour), with Seamus Logan MP (SNP) as Vice-Chair and Charlie Dewhirst MP (Conservative) as Treasurer, the APPG currently has 24 parliamentary Members, representing constituents arounds the UK's coasts.
