About Aqaba University of Technology
Aqaba University of Technology (AUT), is the first private university established in southern Jordan (Middle East). AUT was established in 2015. The university provides a number of undergraduate programs accredited by The Jordanian Higher Education Accreditation Commission.
The programs taught at AUT are distributed over these faculties; Faculty of Engineering (Civil Engineering and Architecture). Faculty of Pharmacy. Faculty of Information Technology (Software Engineering, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence). The Faculty of Arts and Sciences (Occupational Education and Public Safety, Digital Media and Graphic Design). Faculty of Administrative Financial Sciences (Accounting and Business Administration). Faculty of Law and Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences (Physiotherapy, and Medical and Radiology Imaging). The total number of students is about 1300 students, and total number of staff is around 70 members.
AUT is a member of many Academic Associations; The Association of Arab Universities since 2019, International Association of Universities since 2020, and Mediterranean Universities Union. AUT has also international accreditations such as AQACHEI and ASIC Accreditation.
AUT has launched The Red Sea Studies Centre which is concerned with the history, heritage, environment and exploitation of natural resources of the red sea, besides preparing research related to the field of renewable energy and water in the region. AUT attracts students from the neighboring countries especially Egypt. The university provides accommodation for male and female students, plus a well-equipped health center, sports hall and football playgrounds. It also has a cafeteria, supermarket and restaurant. AUT has interest in solar system energy and makes use of the sun energy to provide the required energy for the university usage
