Aquatic Ecosystems Group at UKCEH

We deliver world-leading research into the ecology of aquatic ecosystems (upland and lowland lakes and rivers, and estuaries) and their connections to wider landscapes. To do this, we combine field-based monitoring and observation, experimentation, modelling, and analysis. Our work advances understanding of ecosystem status and functioning and provides essential evidence to underpin sustainable management and restoration across the UK and internationally.
