Overview
About Art of Wishes
We are a charitable initiative that brings the art world together to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Over 60,000 children in the UK suffer from life-threatening medical conditions.
For many, this means an endless round of hospital visits and operations, bringing uncertainty not only to them but their families and loved ones. The granting of a wish helps alleviate some of this anxiety and in some cases, it can actually aid recovery. Research has shown that when a child sees the seemingly impossible happen, it makes them believe they can do the same.
Batia Ofer founded Art of Wishes in 2017 with the sole purpose of raising money for Make-A-Wish UK, the charity that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. It is supported by many internationally-known artists, including Tracey Emin, Jenny Saville and Georg Baselitz, all of whom have donated works for auction in the past.
