Ascend New York City brings together small business service providers, a community college, and a community development financial institution to close the opportunity gap because we know that only collaboration can solve the world’s most pressing issues. Ascend New York City is a unique ecosystem that grows businesses owned by people of color across the Bronx. This growth is accomplished by connecting Local BIPOC businesses who are market-ready, in a position to scale, and can benefit from connecting with Anchor institutions to receive direct contract opportunities. Our Goals are focused on: —Connecting MBE’s to contracting opportunities —Increase the capacity of local MBE Businesses —Help MBE businesses grow so they can create sustainable jobs within the local community —Engaging more Anchor Institutions with a desire to increase MBE spend —Learn Best Practices for Bidding and Winning Contracts with these Anchors
