About Association of Translators and Interpreters Ireland
The Association of Translators and Interpreters Ireland (ATII)—formerly known as Irish Translators’ and Interpreters’ Association (ITIA)—is the only professional association in Ireland representing the interests of practising translators and interpreters. It is a not-for-profit organisation. The ATII aims to promote the highest standards within the profession by demanding the highest professional and ethical standards of its members who are required to sign up and adhere to the ATII 'Code of Practice and Professional Ethics'. Translator members of the ATII are involved in all areas of specialization: literary, legal, medical, technical, commercial and localisation. Our interpreter members include conference, court and community interpreters. Our membership also includes translator and interpreter trainers and those with a general interest in the area of language, translation and interpreting. ATII members hail from all corners of the earth, reflecting the multi-lingual and multi-cultural nature of Ireland today. ATII is a member of FIT - Fédération Internationale des Traducteurs (International Federation of Translators), CEATL - Conseil Européen des Associations de Traducteurs Littéraires (European Council of Associations of Literary Translators), EULITA (European Legal Interpreters and Translators Association) and AVTE (Audiovisual Translators Europe). Our address is 36 Fenian Street, Dublin 2 and you can contact us at: [email protected]
