About AWITA (Association of Women in the Arts)
The aims of AWITA are to:
1. ensure greater recognition of and support for the achievement of women in the art world;
2. increase the opportunities available to women in the art world through professional development and mentoring;
3. advocate to support equal employment practice in the cultural sector and highlight the specific issues facing women;
4. support collaboration in creating new, and expanding existing, projects;
5. encourage the next generation of young women pursuing careers in the arts.
