Association Solidarite Ukraine - Saint-Omer

The Association Solidarité Ukraine Saint Omer works to promote and defend humanist values, the search for the common good and democracy, inherited from over 300 years of close historical ties between France and the United States. But today, the values we defend and our democracies are under direct attack through the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Since the beginning of March, the association has been mobilized to help displaced Ukrainian families forced to leave their country because of the war. Our support actions cover a wide area: Accommodation: Ukrainians are welcomed and housed in the Audomarois region thanks to the generosity of many families; Material donations: in partnership with local NGOs - Emmaüs - La Croix Rouge - les Restos du cœur - we organize the collection and distribution of emergency supplies; In-kind donations: the association collects in-kind donations aimed at improving the daily lives of Ukrainian families (e.g. computers collected for online school access); Financial donations; Health & psychology; Integration & translation: a center for information, games, language, technological access and schooling has been set up at the Ferme d'Ecou in Tilques. A network of translators is also available to help overcome the language barrier. Last but not least, an employment support system is in place. Let's continue to work together to tackle this crisis, which has major humanitarian repercussions. The president of the association is Mary Meaney
