This astronomical computer was an innovation perfected by the Arabs during the tenth century. A golden colored disc with many different uses, including: navigation, telling time, calculating distances and discovering the positions of the planets. It was highly developed in the Islamic world, demonstrating creativity and originality – which is also the inspired essence of our café. The main use of an astrolabe was to navigate by the Sun and stars, proving an ability to see beyond what are right in front of you. This ancient tool symbolizes the challenge to understand the wide universe and the unknown.
