About Atlantic Salmon Trust
The Atlantic Salmon Trust is the UK's foremost evidence-based wild salmon conservation charity.
We are based in the UK but have a reach and reputation that extends around the fisheries world. Through innovative fish-tracking telemetry projects and catchment-wide restoration initiatives, our work extends from the smallest of headwater streams right out into the open ocean.
Since 1967 The Atlantic Salmon Trust has been leading the way in research into migratory salmonids. With over £20 million raised, our projects have successfully and radically altered the way in which wild salmon have been managed during the Trust’s existence.
The Trust's current focus is on its pioneering Core Rivers partnerships, delivering and supporting landscape-scale restoration in river catchments for the benefit of wild Atlantic salmon and wider biodiversity, as well as ongoing research into the causes of wild salmon decline to inform policy and management.
