About AUS Office of Graduate Studies (OGS)
The American University of Sharjah (AUS) Office of Graduate Studies (OGS) supports and enhances the graduate student experience across the university. From overseeing academic affairs to guiding the development of new graduate programs, OGS plays a central role in advancing AUS’ vibrant learning and research community.
OGS develops and manages key policies related to graduate studies, including thesis and project guidelines, student petitions and graduate curricula. The office also contributes to accreditations efforts by reviewing and providing feedback on relevant documentation. In addition, it coordinates graduate research and teaching assistantships and on-campus graduate student employment.
OGS also supports the Graduate Student Association (GSA), advising its board and empowering student-led initiatives that enrich campus life. To promote research engagement, the office offers Conference Travel Support, helping students to present at peer-reviewed academic conferences. Through its policies, services and student-centered initiatives,
Led by the Vice Provost for Graduate Studies (VPGS), OSG is guided by the University Graduate Programs Committee (GPC), which the VPGS chairs. This committee reviews and oversees policies related to graduate programs across the university.
