AWFishNET is dedicated to enhancing the welfare and incomes of women involved in fish processing and trade throughout Africa. We strive to ensure equitable participation of women in decision-making processes at all levels—national, regional, and continental—within the fish processing and trade sectors. The network focuses on strengthening the viability, sustainability, and growth of women-led enterprises while enhancing the competitiveness of their products and expanding access to markets across national, regional, and continental levels.
AWFishNET’s strategic plan focuses on addressing key challenges through six priorities: ensuring safe and healthy work environments, promoting sustainability and access to fish resources, enhancing the competitiveness of women-led enterprises, increasing women’s participation in policy processes, strengthening organizational capacity, and mobilizing resources for sustainable growth.
