About BASF Zhanjiang

BASF is building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province, Mainland China. The project is BASF’s largest investment to date with around €10 billion upon completion. It will be operated under the sole responsibility of BASF and will be the company’s third-largest Verbund site worldwide, following Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Antwerp, Belgium. BASF Integrated Site (Guangdong) Co. Ltd. (BIG), BASF’s wholly-owned subsidiary, was officially established in 2019 to oversee the operations of the Zhanjiang Verbund site.

The new smart Verbund site utilizes state-of-the-art and digital technologies with high safety standards and provides low carbon footprint solutions. The first plants producing engineering plastics and thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) are already in operation and serving our customers across various industries. At the same time, BASF Zhanjiang is in full swing building the core of the Verbund including a steam cracker and several downstream plants.

Our team is diverse, comprising colleagues with rich experiences in project management, execution, and operations in the Asian environment. We are supported by BASF global talents and trusted partners. Every one of us is committed and passionate in writing new successful chapters for BASF.

BASF Zhanjiang is excited to provide excellent-quality products with high production reliability to our customers. Together with our stakeholders, we are creating chemistry for a sustainable future.
