About The Belmont Cinema
The Belmont Cinema is a not-for-profit company and registered charity focused on reimagining, refurbishing and reopening Aberdeen’s only independent cinema – the beloved Belmont. We will ensure that The Belmont Cinema is sustainably reopened to the cultural and educational benefit of Aberdeen and all those who live here.
Founded by a group of volunteers with a passion for cinema and a desire to provide a cultural hub which benefits the local community, The Belmont is now run by a small team of staff and governed by our Board of Trustees, dedicated to opening an inclusive and accessible cinema for our city.
Working in partnership with award-winning community anchor organisation Station House Media Unit (shmu), we are guided by our four pillars: Film, Education, Community and Experience, to create a welcoming space where the magic of cinema can be enjoyed by all.
