About The BIDMC and HMFP Department of Radiology
We play an integral role in supporting a world-class teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center. Our team uses the latest imaging techniques and technology to produce precise, high-quality images—an indispensable tool for patients and their care teams. We have a proven record of innovation at the forefront of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Our globally diverse department of 500+ employees is guided by a common mission: Together Taking Care of People. We have more than 65 faculty physicians who provide radiography, CT, ultrasound, MRI, nuclear medicine, angiography, and interventional radiology services. We are also committed to training our future radiologists while pursuing advancements in basic science, technology, and health services research to create a healthy future for our patients and their families.
Our physicians are employed by Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians, along with 2,400+ specialty and primary care physicians and healthcare practitioners. The 1,400 HMS faculty members provide services across the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) system and other hospitals in eastern Massachusetts.
